Start Here: Initial Consultation — $500

A one-on-one meeting to review:

  • Current care situation

  • Assets and income

  • Documents that may be needed

  • Potential spend-down considerations

  • Likely complexity of the application

  • Recommended next steps

Your consultation fee is credited toward your application.

If you move forward with HSS afterward, the entire $500 consultation fee is applied toward your Standard or Complex Medicaid Application fee.

What may make a Medicaid application more complex?

  • Secondary real estate

  • A required spend-down greater than $50,000

  • An unresolved transfer or gift during the five-year lookback period

Every situation is different. HSS will discuss the anticipated scope and fee with you before work begins. If new information changes the scope, we will explain the change before proceeding.
